We upgraded our room to a Camino Club room upon arrival at the hotel. This includes a room with a bay view, the breakfast buffet, 2-hour cocktail hour in the evening, robes, cookies in the afternoon , and a concierege service (which we did not utilise). Initially, we were assigned a room in close proximity to the construction site next door, but the front desk changed it with no problem. The setting is beautiful, there are plenty of chairs (both in sun & shade) at the 3 pools, the hotel & grounds are clean & well-kept. The beach area is very small and private. The food at the hotel is fresh and well prepared, however it is boring, bland, and overpriced. The drinks are expensive if you drink outside the free club cocktail hour. Located in the Diamante district, cab fares to town or outside restaurants are a minimum 20.00 each way using the taxis at the hotel. We arranged for a private driver during our stay negotiating our itinerary and prices beforehand. At any rate, taxi costs (should you wish to travel anywhere outside the hotel ) will be considerable. Our room (#517) had an on-going problem with air conditioning failure throughout our stay, however it was always promptly resolved. The employees are courteous and aim to please. Some have a better command of English than others. The hotel is popular with Mexican nationals from Mexico City seeking a week-end escape, and the hotel does host business gatherings. If you are seeking a quiet getaway in a location that is remote from downtown Acapulco this is a good choice. If you are looking for pumped-up action and activites, seek another venue.

Great location; good facilities; below average restaurants. For a place that is a fair distance from the town and other eateries, the food at the restaurants was very mediocre. Prices, of course, were above average!!

It has a great location, private and comfortalbe, 3 pools with an great view and defined clearly for kids and adults. The only thing I think that is missing is variety in the shops, there is only one that carries very poor selection of merchandise at awsome high prices, if you want to buy a bathing suite you just have one store,as the hotel is not located intown it would be a must. All else, great!!!!

Camino Real Acapulco is a good option to visit for a weekend doing nothing but relaxing. Especially if you live in or close to Mexico City. It just takes you a 3h ride to get there. You pretty much don't want to leave the hotel. Althoug Acapulco is really close the traffic getting into the city might cost you some relaxation points. Our food recomendation are the fish tacos in the hotel restaurant next to the hotel beach - La Vela. With salsa de molcajete and a cold Pacifico beer they are a fantastic afternoon snack.

The hotel is very secluded, clean, I will say that it has the best beach area in Acapulco. The rooms are spacious, and the view is magnificient. The hotel has two restaurants ,there OK but there pricey for what they offer, for example breakfast buffet for $18.00 dollars.

This is a great find- very secluded and quiet with all the amenities needed. Don't get caught taking food/drinks in from outside like we did- they give you hard time. The beds were hard, but we got used to it. The pools are wonderful! Poolside service is slow though- took forever to get a drink! Very clean and friendly service. Taxi rides averaged 10-12 each way to go anywhere!

The service at the Camino Real was not great. I had a really really bad meal in their Cabo Diamante cafe. I could go on but I will not.

Hotel has not been maintained in a decade (at least) and you will find rust in the bathroom, paint that is peeling everywhere, and the cheapest pool ammenities (chairs, etc.). Oh, and it is so far away from any road where you may catch a cab that the hotel cabs charge $80 pesos just to get you to the main road... it is more like $160 pesos to get you anywhere in the main tourist beaches / areas.

The Camino Real was a comfortable, yet distant hotel. The hotel was far from the city, about a 20 minute cab ride into town. The rooms just need to get a bit upgraded. We stayed on the 2nd floor & the view was beautiful. The food was alright at best, a bit pricey. If you want to just relax in Acapulco, then this is the place for you. Very family oriented for the little ones.

Room service entered the room with do not disturb sign clearly displayed at the door. Minibar was filled up with something of no value to us which rendered it unusable. When we took something out to free up some space for couple apples and oranges, they charged us at the time of checkout. Whatever is taken out of minibar - should be payed for. customers are not allowed to bring food and drinks in the hotel. Have them remove everything out of minibar prior to moving in the room.

This was a wonderful place to visit...out of the hussle and bussel of Acapulco. This was a very quiet place...May is a great time to go since most of the tourists are gone for the season. However, be ready to spend in taxi fare to get in and out of town. An easy $50.00 round trip to get there but it is worth it and every time you come back to the Camino Reale you enjoy the peace and quiet. The restaurants viewing Acapulco have wonderful views. Most enjoyable Kokoburros and La Vista Restuarants. La Vista had the best lobster...super large and Kokoburros had great seafood too! The water at the hotel was good to drink...the breakfast (from the club room) was wonderful with a hint of Mexican flavors to try. We never felt uncomfortable or concerned about there we were. Our driver from the Tour Group was fantastic! He took care of our coming and goings all the while we were there so we knew where to shop. He arranged all our dinner tables making sure we had the best table available. And his english was great! We learned alot more about Acapulco that most would. As for him...he was great! Downfalls...few...the Sunset cruise we paid for (even though it said transportation was included) Tour Group would not honor...don't know why. The hotel made a mistake by charging for breakfast and evening drinks (that were included) but quickly reversed those charges without hesitation. Besides that the people in Mexico were wonderful...you can feel very comfortable there.

Camino Real Acapulco is a great hotel - very relaxing. My room on the third floor was very large and had a great view. The hotel is very quiet and the staff was great. My only disappointment was the food--I was never able to exactly determine when the restaurants and bars (pool bar and lobby bar) were open - they never seemed to be open at all during the day. The breakfast buffet was very good - somedays better than others. The rest of the food I ate was just not up to par; if you have a car or want to take a cab into town, obviously you would have more options.

The Camino Real in Acapulco was very nice and quiet. The room was large and comfortable with a large sliding glass door onto our private balcony. The view was fabulous. The food in two of the restaurants was great and reasonably priced. A choice of swimming was available - either the beach, or three pools! The hotel staff was helpful and accommodating; and spoke excellent English. The best thing about the hotel is that is a gated-property; only guests of the hotel are allowed inside the gate. The location is a bit outside the main stream; but taxies are plentiful and cheap.

The El Camino Real Diamante Acapulco was a great experience. The hotel is beautiful and is located on St. Marquez Bay as opposed to the extremely busy and crowded Acapulco Bay. Big difference. The hotel has a small private beach and very good restaurants. All types of water sports are available and the hotel has at least three swimming pools. Room service was very prompt and all waitstaff were cordial. We enjoy the El Camino Real hotels in Mexico and find them to be clean, luxurious, and reasonable. The hotel chain is run by a business group from Mexico City that knows hospitality management. We've stayed at El Camino Real hotels all over the Republic of Mexico and have found them to be the very best value for the USD.
