We had a good week at the Casa Magna Marriott. The one problem was the construction that went on from about 0800 until 2000. They gave us some coupons to use at the hotel to try to make up for the construction. I feel that hotel's should let guests know of any construction and let them decide if they want to stay or not. The room was recently redone and nice and the pool is beautful.

The hotel was fabulous! We had booked "garden view" rooms because of the cost of ocean view rooms, but were upgraded to ocean views without even asking! Each one had a balcony and we sat out there every monring and enjoyed the peaceful view and atmosphere before even starting our day. The pool was huge and service with towels, drinks and food at the pool was exceptional. The staff was asking all the time what they could to, did we have everything we needed, etc. Any special requests were handled immediately. The consierge was very helpful and well informed of all area atttractions, made restaurant reservations etc. The grounds were luscious. The location was easy walking distance to the marina and cabs were right at the door for anything else. Cab rides to town or anyplace else were very inexpensive and took you exactly where you wanted to go. I would stay at the Marriott CasaMagna again and will tell everyone I know about our experience!

This hotel is undergoing a complete renovation. When that's done, I think it will be a really nice place to stay. I would wait until 2009 to visit. Right now there is a mishmash of loud construction noise throughout the hotel and some very dated rooms. The public areas are nice but the services and restaurants are unfordable by western standards.

The hotel itself was good, but extremely noisy because of the renovation it was undergoing. Honestly, about 80% of the hotel was under construction; not conducive to rest and relaxation. The room was infested with ants, and had mosquitos splatted on the wall.

Our overal experience was OK. The hotel staff and service are AWESOME. Location is great. The food was good. The only things my family and I were disapointed was in the bedding, It was down pillow tops with down blankets and pillows. Puerto Vallarta is VERY VERY HOT HOT!!!! not a good combination. Also the food and drink prices are VERY VERY expensive!! The Marina is right accross the street and thier are a large variety of restaraunts with great prices. Also the resort is excelent for kids, lots and lots of activities.

We went with Marriott because we know that they usually have great resorts to stay at with clean rooms and comfortable beds. we arrived and the room had a terrible smell of mildew which was coming from the bed linens. we asked the houskeeping service to come and change our linens, they said they would do so right away so we went to the pool so that could be taken care of. we come back 4 hours later and they still had not come to our room to clean/switch out the linens. this happened twice during our trip. the room quality was poor with many cracks in the walls, stains in the bath tubs, and water leaks coming from the shower that would flood our floor. that leak also took way to long to fix and we were eventually stranded outside of our room because of it for 5 hours. this place was terrible. Go with the Four Sseasons.

Aesthetically pleasing, secluded (good and bad). It was some distance from downtown, no restaurants near by.

Hotel Marriott Casa Magna: This was our second stay at this hotel. The atmosphere is unbelievable. the first impression is gourgeous. our problems with the hotel came with the rooms. due to arriving late the hotel gave away our two bed room and we were stuck with a one bed and pull out couch. We were able to get another room the next night but had problems in our move. By late evening we had the new room but our luggage was not moved. Vacation is not to be worried about rooms and luggage. After all was done, the hotel was slow in comping us a free breakfast for our troubles. Once we tried to get our breakfast it was not entered into computer so we had to speak to several people before we ate. After we got settled in, all was great. The pool and beach areas are great. I would not stay there again, but it is worth staying there once.

In 2006, we visited Puerto Vallarta for the first time. In was an easy choice to book a similar vacation in 2008 during the same time period at the same location, the Marriott Casa Magna. The Marina is a beautiful location for this resort. It is centrally located to all the areas a tourist would want to visit. The pool is well kept with plenty of space to rest and enjoy the outdoors. There are activities for kids and managed vendors that offer better pricing than the beach offerings. The dining facilities are excellent and the service is exceptional. On both occasions, we left on first name basis with many of the Marriott employees. We visited other resorts in the vicinity but found the Marriott to be far more attractive and inviting. We found the gym and spa to be exceptional accomodations. The rooms are large and clean. Staff are warm and welcoming with a desire to service the needs of visitors. Very refreshing. Very inviting and hard to leave. A pleasure to stay and will definitely book at the Marriott for our next stay.

The hotel was under construction and as such was not a 4star hotel during my stay. I only got a reasonable room after a very long discussion with management about the sound and unpleasantness issues re: the construction. However, the staff was helpful in the end and they gave me some nice vouchers to use in their restaurants/spa to make up for the inconvenience. That was nice, but I got sick from brushing my teeth with the water there, I guess I should have known better, what with this being Mexico and all, but I was hoping they would have clean water in a 4star hotel.

The Marriott was a pretty nice hotel overall. Having never been to PV I was relying a lot on others feedback. The location was pretty good it was walking distance to the marina which had some shopping and several resturants and to go downtown PV it was about a 10min ride and cost 80 pesos. The checkin was some what of a nightmare. Once I went into the business center and got it we were fine. There were 4or 5 resturants to choose from and the grounds were pretty well maintained. There is a great sandwich shop that sells other snacks as well that I would recommend. One other negative is the room walls are VERY thin, we had a baby next to us that would wake us up early in the morning crying. THe buffet was pretty good for breakfast but a little pricey (240 pesos)as was the drinks in the hotel. There is a great swim up bar with a good selection of drinks but they will run you 8-14 per drink but I think this is pretty standard for the hotels. When you arrive at the airport there is a gang of people who want to help you with a taxi and even have taxi signs. Ignor all of those people because they will try to sell you a timeshare or will significantly overcharge you for the taxi ride. If you walk out the airport and go to the left there is a ramp that you take to the opposite side of the street. The taxis there were much cheaper, should be about 80-100 pesos, or $8-10 dollars.

From registration to departure the service was excelent, everybody was friendly. It is obvious that managers are well trained and curteous. At the restaurants the service is excellent, food is delicious and your waiter goes out of his way to please you. The rooms are large with sitting area, computer access and we had an ocean view. There is a golf course in the premises and two additional ones about 20 minutes away designed by Nicklaus and Weiscoff with beautiful views of the mountains. There are excellent restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. The only bad experience we had was the timeshare salesmen at the airport, they are relentless and get ugly if you do not want to talk to them.

The hotel far met my expectations. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. There was construction at the hotel at the time but we didn't notice since we were out during the day. The hotel compensated guests with coupon vouchers for goods and services in the hotel. Very happy with my experience.

We arrived early knowing that check in time is 4PM. Hotel staff was helpful in keeping our luggage until time to check in. The hotel is close to the marina where there are many places to eat. Breakfast buffet at the hotel is great. Wireless internet access is $10 per day which seems overpriced to me since I provide it free of charge to my guests at my house. Internet was slow at times, also. I would stay here again.

We were only there for 1 night but our experience was great. Great facilities, friendly staff, very helpful. It was a little ways from downtown PV so didn't expect that but probably also made for a better nights sleep! Would stay there again.

The Marriott Casamagna is located near the airport and down town which is convenient. The pool side and beach are steps away. The restaurants service staff was unfriendly, so going to eat out was convenient.

Even though we arrived around noon, well before the 4 p.m. check-in time, they had express check-in for us. Whole property is beautiful & location is away from the main hotel zone, but still near other resort properties and an easy bus ride into town. Pool & beach location are great. Room was not the largest I have ever been in, but I didn't come to PV to stay inside my hotel room all the time! I would definitely come back & recommend this to all my friends. Compares favorably to the other high end resorts in the area.

The Marriott Casa Magna was up to Marriott's high standards. The rooms were nicely appointed, clean and well maintained. We had an ocean view room that was terrific. The grounds were beautiful, the pool and pool areas were great, and the pool staff was friendly and attentive. The food service was very good, with lots of choices on the menu at the outdoor dining by the pool. We did not eat dinner in the hotel's main restaurant, but I'm quite sure it would have been just as good. We particularly enjoyed the deli in the hotel. The had a wide range of sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffees, etc. All available to take to the pool, or eat outside on the adjoining patio. The sandwiches were delicious. One fed two people easily. Soft drinks, water and beer were also available and the staff there was very friendly and efficient. The location was great, within walking distance to the Marina.
