Have stayed at this hotel several times. While the beds can be rather firm, the rooms are clean and very reasonably priced. You can request a foam pad for the bed from the desk - sometimes it's available. The pool is my favorite part of the hotel - it's quiet - no constant noise from bingo, games, etc. like the other hotel pools. The maids are very pleasant and the pool staff friendly and attentive. Not too crazy about the time share sales people, but they leave you alone if you give them a firm "no thank you" and walk on. Friends have also stayed here with us and thought it was great for the price. Have already booked another stay!

Hotel is in a good location with shops and food places close. Outside of hotel was attractive, and pool and ocean view was nice. Rooms still had metal keys, which is unsafe since keys could be copied. Decor of room was outdated, mattresses were on cement, and floors were very dirty.

Costa de Oro is a good choice for the price. The rooms are small and they only offer double beds. The room did not have much to offer. There were two beds, a small tv, a table with two chairs and a bathroom. We were disappointed to find no clock or alarm in the room. We did end up switching rooms due to mold that was in the bathroom. The second room was mold free; however, still no clock. The view from our balcony was great and we could hear the ocean at night which was also a plus. The pool at the hotel was great, however i would only recommend purchasing drinks during happy hour because they are pricey. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once and it was average, nothing special for the price. The location was the best part about the hotel. There are many places to eat, shop, and be entertained within walking distance. Gus Gus across the street offers great prices on drinks and live music every night.

The pictures of the room for a upgrade were not pictures of the room we got. The hotel was under construction also. Our maid Yolanda was wonderful, Santos at the pool/bar was great. The hotel told this couple that it was okay to have a dog during the day/ but kenneled at night across the street. But during the day they gave her problems about having him etc this is not a pet friendly hotel. They miss led this couple but took there money for a room it was okay then but not later on in the day.

Room was hot, dirty, and uncomfortable. Room door and windows allowed much outside noise into the room. This was the worst hotel in my Mexico vacation.

I would never stay at this hotel again. I booked on line for a non-smoking ocean view. When I arrived, I needed to pay another 25/niteto upgrade from a garden view to an ocean view. I was OK with that. But, my 1st room had meldew ordor, so the next day I moved to another room. It also, had a bad musty ordor, so I moved back to a garden room on the 1st floor. The next day I discovered I had no hot water. When I called, all they said was, something happened and no one on the 1st floor had hot water. They didn't know when it would be fixed, and for the next three days I had no hot water. My stay was hell, and I will sum it up this way, if you have above average standards go to Pueblo Bonito. It will cost a little more, but it is money well spent. The reviews are right, Pueblo Bonito is great place. The help is veryprofessional and they understand the meaning of customer service.

This resort is perfectly placed in the Gold Zone of Mazatlan. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are great! We spent the little extra money for the Ocean view suite and I would recommend this for anyone. The room is amazing with ample space for everything and they catered to my one year old daughter with a in room crib also. GREAT GREAT GREAT resort and room. Spend the extra cash get the suite and enjoy the view!!

I can't say enough about this hotel. We were not satisfid with first room and were immediately given a larger room at no additional cost. Staff was wonderful. Restaurant food was excellent. View was breathtaking and did I mention the beach was right there! Vendors and all : - ) As far as the timeshare people hounding you.... hey that's part of Mexico! Just say "no"!

The Costa De Oro staff were all great. Restaurant food was very good for breakfast. We ate away from the motel for all other meals. Our room was very damp and cold. I wore sweats to bed at nite in order to be comfortable. There was mold growing in the ceiling of our closet and the smell was awful when you first walked in the room. We left our closet doors open all the time, otherwise our clothes would have smelled the same. The beds were very old and worn, hard mattresses. Room was very clean. The location was great-just far enough from the Golden Zone to be a little more quiet, but within walking distance. Time share people nearly drove us crazy everywhere we went. We did attend a time share presentation at the hotel. The supervisor who came after we said no called us strange and was next to rude when we didn't buy in. This was our second time in Mazatlan. Different hotel this visit. It was a bit more rustic and uncomfortable than we are used to.

Our stay at Costa De Oro was probably the most relaxing time we've had. The hotel is located steps from the beach, and the pool is heated and very comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful and hospitable during our stay.

The room that we reserved was very small. Ocean veiw standard No coffee pot, frig or micro. We had to pay an additional $40 dollars per night to get these few amenities. Room service forgot to leave complimentary coffee two days. There is an additional 15% tax charged if you eat at the on sight resturant. Wouldn't stay there again.

This hotel has given us the best experience ever in Mexico. We got everything we expected. In our past seven trips to Mexico, this is the best value. This hotel is right in the heart of all the action.

I loved the location of the hotel. The waiters were wonderful. The food (breakfast) was good. The shower was not very warm. The beds are like a block of bricks. The balcony door and the windows do not lock. Hard to get face clothes and hand towels. Floor was dirty, after shower to walk in your barefeet across the room they would be black with dirt. Front desk staff were not very friendly.

The Costa de Oro was right in the middle of the local area and easily walkable distances to daily activities and night life. The shower area was seperate from the vanity area with a table and chairs area. I also liked the private patio with table and chairs.
