This is not what it looks like in the picture. The carpet is so filthy that we had to wear shoes in the room. The shower doors fall off when you try to open or shut them. We had to beg for washcloths and towels. The towels are so thin you need 2 or 3. Would not stay again nor recommend to anyone!

Del Angel has the best bell boys in town. They were able to help when my luggage was lost and get us anywhere we needed to go. The prices they got us for our taxi's were unbelievable. The room was ok but the beds were horrible - it was like sleeping on a concrete slab. Considering the room was only used for showering and sleeping, the bed was a real downer but the shower was wonderful - talk about water pressure. Location is wonderful as well - walking distance from everything!

Good for the price minus that my room was right under the restaurant and all the moving chair woke me up before I would have liked.

Courteous and helpful front desk staff, many of whom spoke English. Other personnel was also helpful and friendly. Always a cab outside the hotel - even at 4:30 am. Room, carpet a little shabby, but the hotel is being renovated, so that may change. Clean sheets and towels. Good housekeeping. In-room safe. No instructions for dialing out (02) or for using the air conditioner which stops when the water reservoir is full. (Open door on bottom right to empty water reservoir, replace and turn on again.) Free bottled water. No surprise charges at check out. Location: close to busses, including the Turibus. A bit of a walk to the Metro, but safe walking, even at night. Several restaurants, street food stands, and a convenience store close by. I thought the breakfasts were great and not expensive. The lights in the dining room were too bright to enjoy the night view, but looking out the windows in the morning was fun. I'd be happy to stay at this hotel again.

The location of Hotel Del Angel is excellent because it is located right in the heart of the city. Unfortunately, my room was very dirty. The carpet was damaged, stained, and stinky. It was so filthy that I requested another room but the receptionist informed me that all carpets were in the same condition. I got a double-bed room and I could not sleep at all because both beds were so hard that I got back pain. If this hotel were well-maintained and, most importantly, clean; it would be a perfect deal. I was looking for an inexpensive and clean hotel, but my expectations were not met at all.

People from the hotel were really nice, helpful and committed with us. They would always make sure we had everything...more than a hotel they were a complete travel agency and tourist information point since they help us out looking for directions, suggesting nice places to visit, safe places to go for a walk. If you are just looking a place to keep your luggage and go out to enjoy Mexico, D.F , this is your hotel. Rooms are ok but smell a bit weird, not bad just weird...we didn't care since we were out most of the time and went there just to sleep few hours..

Hotel Del Angel is a good location if you're a solo traveler: a businessman or a student doing research (although the hotel is far from the National Archive). What it lacks in space it makes up for in cleanliness of its rooms, its decent restaurant, and its convenient location close to two cinemas (one mainstream, one independent), to Chapultepec Park, to several embassies, and to the Zona Rosa (for all you thrill seekers). The staff is for the most part bilingual (although I managed to use my moderate Spanish with little difficulty) and there are secure tourist taxis available upon request. I would recommend Hotel Del Angel to any solo traveler, although if you had a family maybe I'd find another place unless your family is a little smaller.

Del Angel is a comfortable hotel with extremely courtious and helpful staff from the reception in. Whilst the decor is tired it is kept fresh and clean by the attentive housekeepers. The bar area was under construction on our visit. It is ideally situated for all amenities. First class restaurants are only a few minutes walk away. The many historical attractions of the city are only a few minutes in a cab.

This hotel was exactly as advirtised--clean and simple and a great price, near many great locations--the monument of independence, the American embassy, and Chapultipec Park. We brought a fan to move the air around and to cover the noise outside, and we slept great on the admittedly harder than normal beds. We'd definitely stay here again.

A good buy if you're willing to make a couple of sacrifices (like no internet, A/C, or exercise room). The staff was really nice. Good location in the heart of Reforma district.

The room condition wasn't the best, the carpets were very dirty, same with the bath tub, etc. Make sure you don't get the 10th floor, kitchen was in top and we could hear all day all type of sounds, couldn't sleep. They are also remodeling, but we got an Old room. My friend, that lives in Mexico came to visit and the front people were calling at 10PM my room, to make sure she would leave or get charge for staying, very rude. Internet was additional (8/day) even though the site said it was included.

The hotel is located next to an all-night bar (Cantina de los Remedios) so DO NOT STAY ON THE GROUND FLOOR. The noise is deafening and lasts ALL-NIGHT. I think that a room on the upper floors would be much better. There?s no restaurant but there is another hotel next door called Hotel Angel Suites and they have a small restaurant with a nice breakfast. Location is excelent. Internet will cost you AND they cut you off at 12am (you have to buy another day). I think that given the cost, free in-room internet should be the standard everywhere! Traffic is very heavy in the AM. Don?t try to stay here and go to Santa Fe in the morning. It could take you 2 hours to get there. This is the cheapest hotel you?ll find in the nice Reforma area and it?s close to the zona Rosa as well. The condition of the hotel is definately "run-down" but inline with price and I would stay again. A good alternative is the hotel Colon (located at the glorieta cristopher colon) a short distance away for about 20 USD more. Although it costs more, it is a little better and price is also inline with quality. Most other hotels in Mexico City are "not-quite" as good as you would expect and cost "a bit more" than they should. If you just need a conveniente, cheap, secure place to sleep, this is the best you?ll find.

Ideal location for varied touring opportunities using public transportation. Hotel undergoing renovation and during my visit did not have lobby but only check in counter, no pool and no business center. Room was large, quiet and comfortable. Dining room was very nice with large windows overlooking key city areas from the 11th floor location.

The Hotel Del Angel was comfortable enough. The room met my needs as single, nonfussy traveler. The furnishings were worn, but seemed clean. The staff was very helpful and met my needs. I don't speak Spanish and an English speaking staff member was always available to assist with my needs. I would stay there again, but would not recommend it to everyone.

located on a nice street one block from Reforma. Very good location with Restaurants, Bars, Sights, close by. That said, the carpet was worn and soiled, the air didn't work,(they brought a fan), cable and TV didn't work, no amenities. But best price for the location if you don't need any hotel amenities.

The hotel did not look great the first time I stayed there last year, but the room was clean and the accommodations acceptable considering the price. They are currently remodeling and the results look very promising. The restaurant will be relocated from the top floor to the first floor to increase traffic. The front lobby has been remodeled although only half of it is currently available as a result of the construction process. Location is good. The area is safe. It is best suited for families or people traveling on vacation. The business amenities are limited, but the hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
