We loved our vacation at Seaside Suites. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The staff were amazing, and always waiting on you or picking up after you to make you feel comfortable. For the most part we never felt congested. There was only a wait at one of the restaurants, but they made you very comfortable at the bar making you high end martini's or whatever you'd like. All the restaurants were of high quality. There was construction going on while we were staying there, which made you feel a little more like you were at home than on a tranquil beach, but it was easily gotten over. I did have a bad experience with a male staff member from the spa who provided a less than therapeutic massage for A LOT of money. BUT after stating my complaint to the concierge, they provided me with another 90 minutes of absolute heaven. Very easy to check in and check out. They also provided a quality travel/activities company for all our excursions.

There are not enough good things I can say about this resort. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and when we arrived we were greeted like we were royalty. The staff was above and beyond friendly and curtious. The landscaping and location were beautiful. The food at all of the restraunts was better then we would have imagined. The natural reef just off the beach was very nice to snorkel. I brought my own gear from home, though they will rent you regular "J" tube snorkels as part of the package for free. Don't bother bringing a wetsuit because the water is fantastic, even if there is a little breeze. Even the breeze was a nice addition, adding just he right amount of air flow to keep it from getting overly hot. The nighly entertainment was very cool and a welcome addition to an already great experience.

The hotel is about an hour or so away from the airport if you use a direct non stop service from the airport... our ver first contact when we arrived to the hotel was with the bell boy... he was amazing so friendly ... we saw him the first day and then we didnt see him again until our third day and even then he remembered us by name.. As we checked in we were greated with champaigne of which my husband loved..He took us to our room showed us all that we needed to know .. we stayed in the jacuzzi swim up room where we have our patio that leads right to our pool... which was amazing we loved it...our favorite resturant for dinner was the mexican one.. our waiter was great .. he kept my husband stocked with his margaritas and on our last day he made sure to take care of us.. he even brought over the mexican hat for my husband to wear... we absolutely loved him.. for breakfest we mainly went to the very first resturant by the main enterance.. and Jwas our waiter everytime .. he was great.. for lunch we just went to the snack resturant located on the beach.. that was good.. for Breakfest and lunch no real dress code for any resturant .. but dinner is another story.. and they are strick with this.. while we were in the mexican resturant waiting for our table a couple walked in the lady had a dress the man had shorts a t-shirt and flip flops... they were told he had to change... i guess thats the annoying part.. when you go away you just want to relax and not worry about what your wearing.. as far as daily activities within the resort.. not many... its more of a laid back resort where you do nothing but lay back and relax.. the beach area was to crowded for my taste almost felt like everyone was ontop of each other.. it was awsume... we had our swim bar as well... this was defenitly not a party central resort.. so if thats what you are looking for this is not the one for you.. this is more for couples who are not into that .. the older crowd... people who just want to do n

We just returned from our vacation dec 8- dec 16 and could not be happier. We had stayed here in 2002 and the changes in the resort are remarkable (not that we had any complaints back then). The grounds are more beautiful than ever with flowers and planters of lush green EVERYWHERE. The beach beds are wonderful--we had a swinging one every day and pretty much just camped out there. They have beds in the sun or shade so you can have your pick. Our room was huge and amazingly clean. The beds were firm but comfortable. We had room 3214 and our view was perfect. Wonderful view of the sea and very near a swim up bar (the bartender, Tiburcio, ROCKS! he made us the coolest drinks!). The food here is SO GOOD. All the eateries are great but Vida was our favorite. The staff at Vida was the most fun and also the most attentive. Vida's drink menu was extensive and fun to explore. The pizza stand had great blue cheese pizza that I am currently craving. Breakfast was good everywhere, but I recomment going to arriceffes and trying a few of the "authentic" mexican breakfast options, the chilaquelas were addictive. We were surprised to see that the dinner menus did not change at any of the eateries, when we were there last they rotated them and I believe their online travel states that they rotate them also. It was not a problem though as there were LOTS of options and you could always try something new. The staff is so sweet and really aim to please. A few of them are just plain entertaining and we would look forward to running into them. This is a VERY romantic resort and I strongly advise it for romantic getaways.

The El Dorado Seaside is fabulous. We loved the location, people, food and ambiance. It was our first time in an all-inclusive, and I guess they are not all like this- this one is gourmet. The only thing we noticed about the food was that it is seasoned for the european/canadian palate. We had to ask for the spicy stuff from the kitchen staff which they were all too happy to provide. They had their own special haberno based sauces that were incredible. Other than that, it was impressive food. Also the location and grounds are dreamlike and beautiful. This was our first time to this part of Mexico and we were very impressed. More people there speak english than in other parts of mexico. The people there are very tourist friendly, and just seem happier. The resort was under constant preening and manicure. The only complaint is the smell from the swamp-like area in back of the resort that sometimes gives off a, well I guess, swamp-smell!The Mayan ruins that are everywhere are something not to miss. We rented a car and did the drive to Coba and Tulum in one day. We climbed to the top of Coba which was something to remember for a lifetime. We even visited some gators in the lake. Tulum is beautiful and parklike. The beach there is also surrealistically beautiful. Playa del Carmen is also worth seeing. It has great shopping and beaches. Next time we will see Moroma beach, but I stress, there wiil be a next time!!!

The El Dorado Seaside Suites was absolutely gorgeous! The food was excellent...always unique and never boring. The only problem we had was that it was so far from everything else like Cancun and other tourist parts...but we were looking for an all inclusive secluded all adults resort and we got it! We were on our honeymoon so it was a perfect spot to vacation. The staff was more than generous and everyone was nice all of the time. We would definitely go there again and we plan on it!

My husband and I found this resort by a fluke and it was the best accident ever! From the moment we walked in we were completely pampered! The food is amazing, drinks plentiful(try the electric lemonaide), and staff accomidating! I strongly reccomend the swimup suites! Perfect for mid-day when the heat can be a little too much, we headed back to our own pool and hung out at the swimup bar until the beach cooled back off! The beds on the beach are also amazing. We'd lay there and swing in the breeze and sleep most of the day. My husband is also big into waterlife and we enjoyed being able to snorkle right in front of the hotel and have tropical fish swiming all around you. Swim shoes are a must for going out from the coast but on the shore not too bad. Can't wait to go back again!

Me and my girlfriend went to El Dorado for 5 nights in the beginning of Feb 08. The location was good if you want to be away from the crazyness of central cancun. The resort itself is very managable and not overwhelming. all-inclusive is nice if you don't want to carrya round cash and think to much. we spent most of our time vegging out at the swim-up room. which let me add is the ONLY WAY to stay at this resort. the beach is kinda iffy. the swim up room was awesome for us considering the beach was not. the food here was pretty good. go to vida restraunt alot- it is the best and the staff is fun. the mexican place is pretty good. the italian was stiff and way to quiet for someone like me. the asian was pretty good too. the sandwicherie area outside is perfect for a quick lunch. try the electric lemonade. speaking of alcohol.. the drinks here were just ok. some felt kinds light on the alcohol, and some where just plain too sugary. so find somethnig you like and stick with it. the wine was good across the board. room service menu us SMALL. luckily they have a great chocolate cake on that we got almost every night. overall the trip was pretty awesome. don't miss tulum and DO NOT go with the resorts shuttle to Playa de carmen. they make it sound like it is a shared shuttle ride to town and make it sound very simple. really it is an EXTREME shopping tour bus. to our suprise! we like to shop, but this was insane and too commercial for our taste. we ended up losing hours of time that we could have spent walking around town, instead being instructed by this tour group (which also stops at a bunch of resorts along the way and turns a 20 min ride into an hour!). some people on here mention that the room smells musty. its not the room, its the water in the toilet which comes from a well. i am totally weird OCD about cleanliness, and this place is clean so don't listen to the people calling it smelly. my only major complaint was when we got checked in, no one showed us around t

My boyfriend and I had been to the Eldorado Royale three times, and decided to try a sister property, the Seaside Suites. We love both, but I preferred the Seaside Suites. It is smaller, more intimate and the beach with beach beds is perfect. We are not partiers so we liked the ability to have quiet evenings. However, there is definitely party time available for those interested, but it never interferred with our romantic getaway. The evening show before the band started was actually fery funny. The food seemed more adventurous and always tasty. My boyfriend, we are Texans, meat and potato types, liked everything he tried. The spa was excellent with very experienced massage therapists that actually listened to the type massage you wanted. Service always prompt and delivered with true courtesy. We will go back next year.

The El Dorado Seaside Suites resort was rather nice but on the same note rather frustrating. The staff was about 50/50 for friendliness. The wait staff was supurb, however they give you a complimentary consienarge when you check in, basically this person is the bullett dodger. They give you the run around about everything. The food was great, the rooms were nice, the atmosphere was plesant.

El Dorado Seaside Suites was the perfect place for a second honeymoon. The oceanfront room that we stayed in was awesome and quite large. It had all of the ammenities that you could imagine: in the entry way was a large closet for hanging clothes (with built in shelves and a room safe. The bathroom had a large tiled standing shower (no tub) and a toilet. In a separate area was the vanity and sink. The main portion of the suite contained a four post King size bed, two night stands and a large chest of drawers. In addition there was a minibar (re-stocked daily. In the sunken section of the room leading out to the balcony, there was a table and chairs for dining purposes (room service) and a jacuzzi tub. The balcony looked out onto the ocean and had a hammock and two chairs. The oceanfront rooms are literally a one minute walk to the beach and were extremely quiet. Not once did I hear any noise coming from the rooms on either side of ours.

We travel to a different resort each to celebrate our anniversary. This was by far one of the best that we have visited. The evening entertainment was a little lacking but everything else makes up for that. I recommend the fish market on the beach and utlize the beach beds. Total relaxation for a couple looking to get away from it all.

El Dorado SS was in Forbes '06 top 10 most romantic hotels in the world. We explored from Cancun to 100+ mls S, so we got a good feel for the area. Cancun: busy, tourist town. Familiar places to eat, shop etc. Big nightlife w/clubs. We were out for romantic R&R and El Dorado SS was great. It is isolated but, a lot of the tourist places have shuttles that will come pick you up, & they have taxis at the hotel 24/7. We were glad to have our own car. As we read, if rent, buy full coverage w/no deductible insurance. USA insurance is not valid there. The people there drive MUCH differently (than Seattle, NY, Houston, LA, or anywhere I've been before)! We were not used to having a smaller, basic car but glad we did. You will need to fit in small spaces along tiny cars. BTW, locals don't drive jeeps. Glad we had air conditioning. At El Dorado SS, they treat you like queens & kings from check in to check out. We had an ocean front room. Not right smack on the ocean, but closest rooms to it. You can walk right out the sliding door & get there quickly. Being on the top floor would have a better view of the ocean. Swim ups look nice for your own piece of the pool. Extremely friendly staff that put up w/our very limited Spanish. Most are learning English so they were fun. As one review said, we packed $100 in US bills for tipping. We tipped everyone that did anything for us and had plenty. You don't have to, but if you get into the mentality of tipping everyone, it is fun. Most of the staff comes from extremely limited means; most are separated from their families so that they could find work. They appreciate $1.00 more than I've ever seen anyone here w/20%. The food was gourmet and the quality could not be beat. The only drawback (sounds odd) is that all the restaurants are gourmet. If you are looking for a nice huge plate of authentic style Mexican food w/a huge basket of chips w/heaping guacamole & sour cream, no way. We went to Akumal (city just 5 miles down the road) and at

We loved the El Dorado Seaside Suites - the service, amenities, location, and staff were all beyond our expectations. The resort is somewhat small, so we were able to meet a lot of the wonderful guests and interact with them each day. It has a very romantic, intimate feel, and although there's not much in the way of entertainment, that's what we wanted, as we were there for our anniversary and wanted to spend time together, enjoying our vacation. We loved the activities pool, along with the beach that fronts the resort. The beach beds are fabulous! The resort is about 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen, just a taxi ride away, so while we weren't especially close to town, it was easy to get to for shopping and exploring. We didn't want to leave the resort much, though, because it was heaven! We would recommend this hotel for any honeymooners, anniversary celebrations, or just reconnection time for couples. It's beautiful, elegant, and the terrific staff made us feel pampered the entire time we were there.
