Our room was poorly decorated, stale smelling, linen smelt like mold, sink was dirty when we arrived, everything seemed outdated. There are no chairs for sunbathing on the beach. I would never return to this hotel.

Booked because it's a Hyatt. Checked out after 1 day! 5 girls on vacation and we had 2 rooms. The room took 2 hours to prepare, we had to wait till almost 6pm and checkin is 3. Not much worked in the room, do not count on the hairdryer, maybe its there and maybe it works. Forget extra towels, it takes 6 hours and 3 phone calls! If you reserved a rollaway, YOU WONT GET ONE! Even the manager does not care! Good luck with a working toilet, they do not have time to fix it. Make sure you know that the key goes in the wall for the electricity since the maintenance guy will go off on you. The staff will walk in whenever they want, they dont care, no apology! If you call to fix anything or if they do not have something in the room and they actually show up, THEY WANT A TIP! Forget the elevators, its a mad dash to get in one!! Theres 50 people waiting for 1 elevator at all times. If your not fast then forget ever getting to your room. Just as a word of warning, unless you like the beach venders, stay by the pool, I left after 5 minutes and 200 venders later! The lobby was pretty.

My wife and I stayed for a week and after reading some reviews, we expected less. This hotel was in a great location, convenient to the bus (right across the street) and Starbucks and restaurants, (a few short blocks walk each morning). The hotel staff was as perfect as one can expect and the remodeled room we had with the ocean/pool view and balcony was a steal for the price. There were all you can eat buffets with live music on the beach and pool deck each night as well. I will recommend this Hyatt especially for the price!

The location is superb, right on the bay with a beach. The bay's water is somewhat dirty, however. The tours we took were all wonderful and cheaper than Princess Cruise's prices for the same tours. Food was great if you can afford it. There is a small fridge in the room stocked fully so we pulled out the supplies and put our own food for breakfast in it (not allowed, but we did it). It's close to Wal-Mart which has Internet "cafe", Subway, groceries, etc. The gold zone begins at the Hyatt and all restaurants there are safe. The ones we went to were always very good. Hotel has a special buffet daily. We tried the Italian and liked it very well.

Staying at the Hyatt was a fabulous experience. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I were in Acapulco. The hotel staff were friendly and most were able to accomodate us by speaking English (an unexpected treat). Our room was always cleaned to perfection and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.

The room we had was very large and bright. The view from our terrace was spectacular. It was clean and breezy. I liked the area that was provided for clothes, suitcases, drawers and the safe. They were out of the way and yet very convenient. We were within walking distance of little shops, stores and restaurants. We had no complaints. The restaurant in the hotel was great for breakfast as they had a choice of the buffet or pick from the menu.

As others have commented, I really liked the hotel lobby, grounds, pools, and staff. However, the rooms were really lacking. This hotel should not be a ""Regency"". The mattress was thin and uncomfortable, everything was just old and rundown in the room. The room felt like an old motel not a Hyatt Regency.

From the moment we arrived it was horrible the front desk check in was over an hour wait and when we got to the room the sheets weren't changed and there weren't any towels in the room. The room was dirty and horrible. The hotel was packed with families and children and above all we had to even pay $5.00 a beach chair to sit on the beach and get harassed by the passing public. This was the worst vacation ever. I don't recommend Acapulco to any one.

My stay at the Hyatt Regency in Acapulco was very pleasent. I last visied this hotel 10 years ago and can now remember why i wanted to go back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but if your looking for a party this is not the hotel for you :)

This was the second time that my wife and I stayed at this hotel, and we have been very satisfied both times. We requested a quiet room both times, and the ones assigned to us were nothing less than terrific. They were on a quiet floor and the view was spectacular. The staff was very polite and accomodating, and they keep the hotel very clean. The pool area is very nice and also very large, with an ample amount of deck chairs for sunbathing.

The Hyatt Regency Acapulco is well located if you want to be on the old part of the city and if you want to party. The rooms are old but are well kept and the service is very friendly, we were granted a room upgrade just for asking and had an awesome view of the Acapulco Bay. However it is crowded, and the restaurants are insufficient. We had to go for breakfast somewhere else because there was an hour wait, it was impossible to get drinks and snacks in the pool area or have lunch in the restaurant.

This hotel is probably the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayed at. It's economical, yet makes you feel as though you are staying in a 5 star resort. Everyone was very friendly; the rooms are immaculate. We are definitely going back to the same hotel next year for an even longer stay.
