We stayed at Las Palapas for our honeymoon and it was one of the best aspects of our trip. It is situated at the end of 5th street, so it was convenient to take a cab to one end and walk the 1/2 mile or so back through the shops and restaurants. The grounds are very well kept and the beach was outstanding. The breakfasts were well appointed with freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice. The staff was very friendly as well. I would recommend getting the breakfast included and hitting 5th street for dinner and lunch. Email me for info on our other experiences.

It's a wonderful quiet oasis in the middle of playa. Very fun jungle walks where we saw coati (a type of badger). Even though our 5 year old was the only kid, none seemed to mind. The restaurant was great, especially for the price, unbelievable! There were a lot of Europeans there, so there were also smokers at the restaurant, but you can easily not sit by them. It was also right around the corner from 5th Ave. We would definitely go there again.
