The rooms are ok, but many rooms don't have any windows. And as for the "lovely swimmingpool": Its a VERY small pool, next to the bar on the ground floor, in the shade and without any sundeck. So you won't wanna go there for a nice swim...

We stayed in Isla Mujures during our Mexico visit, but stayed here the last night before returning home to be closer to airport. The hotel was Excellent. Upon arrival, staff was extremely courteous, helpful and always smiling. It was very clean and we watched staff continually sweeping, cleaning and maintaining appearance. Bar was nice. Pool was nice. We were very impressed with the service, employee attitudes and the overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility. Great price for the stay! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not in the center of the hotel zone or all of the main activity, but it is a very nice place to stay especially for the price. It is about a 25 minute ride from airport via taxi (about 25). Taxis are plentiful to take you anywhere.

The Margaritas Cancun was a good value for the money. We were looking only for a nice, clean place to stay in Cancun before moving further south. Although the hotel is in the downtown area, the beaches are only a bus or taxi ride away.

First I'd like to thank people who wrote so accurate reviews here about this hotel. Once we got there, it was we've been there again! Well, the best advantage of that hotel is the LOCATION! Guys, the hotel is at the best location of Cancun! It's in the middle of anything. Within LESS than 1 minute walking, there are: Super-market, 24/7 pharmacy (with doctor available for free!), two clinics, bank (Santander, where you can use your ATM card for withrawing - I used a Bank of America Debit card), laundry shop (36 pesos -~3 dollars- for 3 kgr clothes), a WONDERFUL Mexican restaurant (La Parillia, where with 20-40 dol. two can eat like kings and with 10 dol. the "Mariachis" will sing a song for you and your g/f ;-)), argentinian restaurants, bakery. I didn't have the time to explore and discover more! You will also find clubs (like discos), but not fancy life. If you want to visit clubs and almost ANY american restaurant (Subways, Fridays, McDonalds, Starbacks etc), you have to drive for about 10 minutes, where the Hotel zone is. Regarding the hotel itself, I would say that it's more than what you pay for. The room was comfortable, clean and colorful. The stuff super polite, as ANY MEXICAN we met there. Well, there's so much poverty arround, but even so these people are still so nice. Even the cops were very friendly! :-) There's also private (free for the clients) parking behind the hotel. The negatives I should share with you, are the low pressure and the law temperature of the water in the bathroom, the horrible shower towels, and the noise during the night. But if you are not too picky, you can live with that! We did! I wish you all a nice staying!

This is an easy hotel to get to and get around from. The rooms are clean, the staff very helpful and has secure parking behind hotel. A good location for resturants right down the main street and acess to sports bars for the USA events. (NFL). Hotel resturant is o.k. - mainly buffet if you like that local food. Has internet room to keep in contact with outside world. Overall it is a very good place and has great front desk staff that speak English. Will stay again.

We stayed here for one night before returning to the states. I had never stayed in downtown Cancun before and it was a nice change. The hotel is is a great location - on the same street as several restaurants and bars. It was a 5 min walk to Market 28 and Walmart too. Basically the only thing missing was the beach, but we had been there for several days already. The mall was a 2 cab ride away. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only reason for the lower rating on the beds was that this is no Westin (LOL). But it was good enough and the sheets were soft, not scratchy like at some of the other cheaper hotels here. I got a great night's sleep. The staff was great. There was a problem with the keycard on our door but they got security and maintenance up right away to fix it. They also let me use the internet a few times for free.Overall, I would definitely recommend you stay here if you are wanting a Cancun experience away from hotel zone. At those prices, you should stay at least one night in this area.

I was very much impressed with the size of the room when I first got inside. Room was clean but has neither ice box nor coffee maker. It could have been much better with those self-help stuffs. Since I was not interested in getting tan on the beach, the location didn't really matter, but for those who wish to see the beach this is not the place. I strongly recommend this hotel for those who are interested in night life(cf.good restaurants and night clubs etc.)and other archiological features of Cancun such as Mayan pyramids.

We thought the hotel was very adequate for our needs(stayed only one night before deaprting back to the US). there was no hot water, but that didn't matter considering the temp. outside. I would consider it a ""Globe Trekker"" experieince. We had dinner at the Parillo, just about a block away, very nice and moderate in price.

The room was comfortable enough but the bellboy did not tell me how to operate anything. The tv reception was terrible. The floor was cool tiles but the maid did not mop everyday so it got dirty fast. Night life is the life next to this place. Many, many places to go to if you are into that.

Balcony Room overlooking Downtown Cancun and the Lively Mexicos. Overall a great value and glad I stayed and got the room I did, internet was available most the time from the business office, however no Wifi. Staff was friendly, area rich in eats, pool, small bars and diverse people. I happen to be at the this hotel on the Yucatan Futbol Fin , so there was alot of flag waving and team songs and friendly scoffs by countless mexicans as they drove down the street stopping exactly in front of my room where the waiters from the hotel eatery were waving their flags of the second place team so there was much friendly conflict which I highly delightened in where older couples might have considered it extremely loud. If you in the culture and traditions of the people you visit I highly recommend this place.

This downtown Cancun property was a great value. THe staff was very hospitibal and the property well maintained. It is close to many dining places and the bus station. The only thing that was negative was the lighting in the bathrooms could be better and the business had one of two computers down and occupied most of the time. Ihave stayed in the downtown area over a half dozen times in the last year and I think that I have found a new home when my visits occur. Thank You Margaritas!!

We had very good service at this hotel. The food was very good with good selections on the menu. The property is dated and is in need of refurbishing but the location is ideal in many ways. It is close to market 28, it is close to excellent dining. In addition this hotel is close the bus station. Updating this hotel and improving the rooms would help considerably. Currently they may be losing some of their market to other area properties.

I did not really like this hotel. i think i overpayed for the kind of hotel it was. notihng worked. and when i asked them to fix it they did a mickey mouse job; as a result, things will get messed up again.

The hotel room had a funny smell, and the maid broke one of my margarita glasses which was fairly expensive and i never got reimbursed for it.
