The hotel was more than adequate for the money. The beds were a bit hard for my taste, but I like membery foam beds so most beds seem hard to me. It is next door to a fairly noisy club (Gus & Gus). If you like to get to sleep early and are a light sleeper, you may wish to choose another place.

Enjoyed the restaurant on the ocean and the food and service was very good as well as the Tequile Restaurant. Enjoyed the tennis lessons. Closeness to the ocean was very good. The staff was very friendly.

Margaritas appears to be affiliated to some degree with the mega resort Costa de Oro (across the street). Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Shower and sink were the least bit grimy for duration of stay, otherwise pretty clean. Did not appreciate the aggressive hounding by people trying to set us up with appts. to view time shares, etc. They were prevalent in area. The restaurant at street entrance to hotel (I'm only guessing it's affiliated with hotel) was named "Koko Blue" when we arrived and changed to "Tequilas" before we left. Maybe they change names often because they're so incredibly bad. Think a low-end TGIF with worse food, much worse service, at a premium price (even by U.S. standards). Somewhat surprised as guests of hotel having to pay for time on tennis court that was very rarely in use. Pool area beautiful and clean, but water COLD as never sees sun. Guess all in all a good deal for touristic Gold Zone.
