I was fairly dissappointed that there was no compemetary tea and we had to ask for toothbrushes. Usually these items are already there.

I travel to Monterrey often for business and have stayed at the Intercontinental twice. The hotel is very nice with all you could ask for. On my first stay I was billed a 300 bar tab that did not belong to me. All charges generated during your stay are verified with a copy of your signed receipt presented when you receive your final bill. This receipt was mysteriously missing. The staff suddenly forgot how to speak English and this could not be resolved before I had to leave to catch my flight. They assured me it would be taken care of. When I got home I had to call back and do the dance again. The charge was never resolved. Since I was expensing it and not paying out of my own pocket, I dropped the issue. Later, several co-workers made it known that their credit card information had been stolen. (Not the actual card, but the information is stored when the card is swiped.) Several had only used the card at the hotel for checkout. Remembering this on my most recent trip, I and my fellow travelers ONLY used our cards at the front desk to check in and out. Not two weeks later, my co-worker's card has been run up 2000 at a Sears in Michigan. Upon checkout, another phantom charge was found. The bartenders also can't be trusted. Keep good track of your tab. These aren't honest mistakes.
