I have never been to Mexico before, so I was nervous to be out of the country. Once we made it to the hotel, I was amazed at the beauty of the resort and the surrounding area. The staff was incredibly nice and we didn't have to lift a finger to do anything. The resort has 4 different pools to choose from and fun activities, if you are an outgoing person. The restaruants were nice, a little pricey, but the service was top notch. A 15 minute ride into town and you are able to see down town Cabo, the marina and shop till your hearts content. As others have mentioned, the resort is mainly timshare owned and they try their hardest to sell you. I went to the presentation, heard what they had to say...and got 300 of free stuff to use at the resort. You can't beat that. I will 100% come back again. I never wanted to leave.

Gorgeous hotel and there was a feeling of privacy everywhere on the grounds. The beach and pools are gorgeous and although you can't swim on the beach, it's so easy and quick to get to the sister hotel. I thought it would be a hassle, but it wasn't at all. The staff was great and I highly recommend saying here. I can't wait to go back.

This place is wonderful - even better than the pics on-line. Absolutely immaculate - the rooms, the grounds, the pool areas - everything was spotless. The staff was exceptional - friendly, spoke english, attentive without being annoying. The grounds are amazing - lots of greenery, flowers in bloom, native plants - really well maintained. Very quiet and low key, ideal for relaxing - not a party resort. Most of the guests we saw were in their 40's-60's (we are mid 30's) which was fine with me. You can go in to town to hit the night life (The Office, mango Deck). We stayed in a Jr. Suite and it was plenty of room for a couple - has a kitchenette so you can stock the fridge. Fridas is very good - make a point to dine there at least once - the tables on the terrace at night are breathtaking. The sky pool is also a must at sunset - gorgeous!! This is by far one of the most beautiful and luxurious resrots I have ever stayed out - I would recommend to anyone looking to unwind, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Cabo. Don't miss the Spa - it is like nothing I have ever seen - a really unbelievalbe experience. This was the ultimate vacation!

The resort location and grounds were impressive, built along a hillside with beautiful views of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The swimming pools were impressive. The timeshare presentations revealed roomy condos and homes, but those were only available for timeshare guests.

My wife and I are in our late 50's and this our third trip to Cabo. The first time we stayed at the sister PB Rose, which is walking distance to downtown Cabo. We toured the Sunset Beach resort during that first trip, immediately fell in love and purchased (junior suite every other year) what we could both afford and felt we could use. We also own a yearly timeshare that we love in Aruba, which is more accessible though not as lovely as Sunset Beach from the east coast. We had given this trip to my oldest child on his wedding two years ago, but being as busy young professionals are these days he and his wife were'nt able to take advantage of it; so we came instead. Hopefully they'll go another time. As others have said, Sunset Beach is a lush growing resort created in a mountainside on the other side of a mountain along the Pacific. The beaches are therefore non-swimmable, but the resort has with a number of very accessible pools (with bars) throughout the resort. We found the staff to excellent and attentive to our needs as vacationers. I had only one problem with a young women at the front desk on checkout involving a mixup with the bill. She had given me the wrong one and it wasn't obvious to me that it was for the wrong room. The restaurants are expensive, but the food and service are excellent. We didn't eat only at the resort - we took advantage of the shuttle service to the sister resort and walked to all the downtown places. If Cabo wasn't so far from NJ and the airlines totally ridiculous, we would come here more often.

Hotel is inconveniently located. Once there, given the terrain, you need to travel within the hillside resort by calling to be picked up by drivers in golf carts. A nuisance. Most important, hotel's requirement that one sign one's signature electronically, so that a facsimile of one's signature can be accessed thought resort for purposes of charging is enough for me not to want to stay at this hotel. When I objected, one desk staff member argumentative and rude. Otherwise, hotel staff, drivers etc. very friendly.

This resort is absolutely beautiful! My boyfriend & I stayed here for 8 days 7 nights. It was breathtaking. The beds were soooo comfortable, sometimes we wanted to stay there all day. The ocean view was breathtaking. We were in building 31 which is right in the middle. The girl at the front desk tried to put us in building 29 which from the map I could see it was on the outskirts of the resort & from other reviews I knew it was right next to construction. After some stern refusal from me she reluctantly changed my options. We had to settle for two queen sized beds but he's 6 foot 2 and we were still fine. The other bed was actually good to have for more room. Next time, I would probably stay at the Rose, though. I had heard how horrible the beds were there but when we went there via free shuttle, we talked to some people who said all the beds have beeen replaced and are now very comfortable and new. Also, it is closer to town which I would have preferred because at the Sunset Beach, your stuck up there and all the restaurants are very expensive. We wanted to eat at cool taco shops but had to go all the way to town for that and some fun party scenes. You can't eat at any of the restraunts at the Sunset Beach for two without spending at least 60 each time. We found a delicious taco place in town called "The Tacqueria" , We had two carne asada taco's each and two coca cola's for 5.80 total! It was authentic and delicious. The sushi at Sunset Beach was incredible though and I loved hearing the Ocean to fall asleep to.

This hotel was great over all. Good food and the service along with landscape was awesome. The shuttles to the sister companies was very helpful. Everything needed was at the hotel. I would recommend a movies under the stars, since there was a beautiful sunset every night.

Very impressive if not very practical hotel. Note: please do not use Maritur shuttle service. They didn't arrive at the airport to pick me up. They didn't arrive at the hotel - despite my confirmation with them - to take me to the airport. Almost missed my flight, which would have been a disaster.

It was our second time at p.b. Sunset. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the overall value is very good. The pool is very crowded and you must get there early to get a chair. Don't expect a quick response to complaints, it took over 3 hours to correct our problem and at the end no apologizes or kick backs for the mistake. Friendly staff. Remote location with hourly shuttles back to town. Excellent security at all points of the property. We'll probably will go back, for a quick family trip.

The views, architecture and landscaping were incredible. It is maybe the most beautiful resort I have ever seen and they maintain it well. It is a $10 cab ride to town but you can also take the free shuttle to one of the sister hotels downtown. It runs hourly each way until about 10 pm. The resort is built up a mountain in many different buildings. They transport you on gasoline powered golf cart like vehicles. They are kind of a hassle because they run on the same paths that people walk on and, being gas powered, they stink a little. Unfortunately, with the topography, I don't see any other way. Of course the topography is why every unit has an incredible view. They could also use softer towels and tp. over all though, I think the place is incredible and will probably return. I mentioned the beauty of the place but I should also mention the very attentive service and excellent restaurants. The sister hotels are also very, very nice with very good restaurants. The service level was great at all of the pb hotels regardless of which one you were staying in (i.e., the pb rose staff treated you like a guest there even if you were staying at the pb sunset).
